We’re on the look out for a new support worker

Wellington Women’s Boarding House is seeking a women-centred, well-organised part-time Support Worker.

 

If you have the following skills and experience we would love to hear from you:

 

  • Experience of working with marginalised, low income or vulnerable people.
  • Experience of developing, maintaining and sustaining excellent relationships with partner organisations.
  • Knowledge of homelessness and its challenges, particularly in relation to women.
  • Practical and common-sense approach to client work.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement at all times.
  • Calm and composed in the face of challenging situations.

 

Wellington Women’s Boarding House is a truly unique place: begun in 1992, the House is conveniently located in Mount Victoria and provides low-cost, comfortable, short to mid-term accommodation for 16 women.  The Support Worker and Manager work in partnership with the Management Committee, a small group of women volunteers who provide a governance and management role for the House.

 

This is an opportunity to make a difference for women.  The role is 0.5 (20 hours per week) which will involve some weekend work.
